Surface Tension

Derby Museum & Art Gallery

I have worked as a producer, curator and arts administrator for over 20 years, in a range of roles and with many artists. In my last job as CEO of Bedford Creative Arts I commissioned artists to make new work, often in public places. Key projects and artists included:

2016

Punkit!

Composer Stephen Deazely and percussionist Joby Burgess, worked with 95 young people to create, learn and perform a new percussion piece

2015

Bedford Voices

Artists DashnDem. In the run up to the general election the artists produced 10 billboards working with 10 community groups and political cartoonist Patrick Blower

2014

Dunstable Wind Charming Day

Artist Laurence Payot. Hundreds of local people came together to celebrate and create a new folklore for Dunstable. Wearing handmade costumes they charmed the wind and sent messages into the sky on a giant kite

2012

Lace in Place

Artist Arabel Rosillo de Blas

Celebrating the unique local history of lacemaking in Bedford. Over one hundred volunteers came together to create lace panels from three miles of nylon rope, covering an unoccupied building in Bedford town centre.
